An entitlement to a statutory period of leave and pay may be available to employees who adopt a child. Adoption Leave and Pay follow the same rules and regulations governing Maternity Leave and Pay very closely. Entitlement to leave will be on the provision of documentary evidence from an adoption agency which may be in the form of a certificate.
