Age discrimination is not limited to the elderly.
Age discrimination covers not just all employees but also workers, partners, job applicants etc and applies to people of all ages. It also covers perceived, not just actual, age.
Age discrimination may affect any person, regardless of how old they are and occurs when someone treats another person unfairly due to their age. Staff involved in recruitment should be advised and trained to ensure that their decisions are based on merit and criteria relevant to the job.
